Questions:
1. Do you remember the first HP fanfic that really pulled you into fandom? If so, what was it?
I do, and it was the Draco Series, Rorschach Blot's Lord of Caer Azkaban and Inell's fics. The Draco series was pretty well written, and the idea of Draco in leather is.....well, indeed. And even though in the Fic Draco and Harry are brothers of a sort, and are involved with women, it was most definately in the Merlin School of really slashy in a way that suggests in "real life" the boys are DOING IT! HARD and REGULARLY! Thus began my liking for slash
Rorschach's Blot invited me into the world of humorous Harry, independant Harry. It was a gateway drug to Dark!Harry and Azkaban!Harry. It was also a gateway drug to Nonjon, who I really believe is one of the best humour ficcers out there.
Inell introduced me to PRON! and wow, what porny fics they were. Her Hermione rules, and her Twins are divine. More het the slash, but her het is gorgeous. Just gorgeous. And I discovered the utter JOY that is Fred/George/Hermione.
2. Choose a superpower--what would it be?
I don't know! I'd love to be able to fly, and go invisible, because I'm SO nosy. I'd love to be able to transorm into an animal. A jaguar maybe, or a tiger. I want to do magic! Can't I have them all? That'd be a real superpower...the power of ulimate superpoweryness. Yeah!
3. Thousands of years from now, archeologists dig up your former home with all your belongings in it. From what you own how would they describe you?
Hmmmmm, well, they'd know I had a child, as there's toys everywhere. They'd probably assume I was some kind of librarian, there's more books than anything else here. If my ornaments lasted, they'd know I love cats, and that I'm addicted to Vivienne Westwood jewellery. They're probably, quite rightly assume that I was poor as a churchmouse. But the one thing they couldn't say, which I am, is happy. And I think that's a shame, you know? That belongings can show personality traits, but not the emotional truth. I want to know if the people who have just been dug up were happy, or sad, or lost or religious or wicked or cruel or kind. You know?
4. What's your favorite place in the world?
My favourite place that I've actually been is the Acropolis in Athens, followed closely by Ephesus in Turkey. To be surrounded by such magnificence, made without any of our society's technology and shortcuts is simply amazing. That they made them beautiful is even more amazing. That when you walk there, you walk in the footsteps of people thousands of years before your time is mindblowing and also somewhat humbling.
5. Is there an HP character or pairing that completely squicks you?
Hagrid/anyone, because he's fecking huge. Otherwise, I think I can handle anything. I've found a liking for Harry/Dumbledore, but I have to admit, I've only read time travel fics so far. But I'm willing to try anything once. Talking of which....Oh Arrrrrrthuuuuuuur! :D
